A fern frond basking in low golden evening sunlight
For a few years, I've escaped the town for a particular hillside, just above Kenmore, looking out over the Appin of Dull. It's a lovely location - such a clear view, trees to walk among and heather to sit in.
It's the sort of place where, as you approach the "carpark", a flock of 20 grouse will shoot out from the undergrowth and try to throw themselves under the car tyres. But also, it's the kind of place where the light and heather look like this.
