Amongst the Trees
Amongst the Trees
A study in the forest floor: parallel tree-trunks reaching up to the canopy beyond. This demonstrates my principle of "no-light" - a slightly Zen term to distinguish these scenes from the usual preference for contrasty patterns of light in landscape photography. The levels in here were low - ISO640 required in order to keep shutter-speed up and aperture at optimum setting for lens sharpness. It also demonstrates the results of exposing to put a dark scene on a midtone, and then converting it to black and white.
