Rock Striations

Rock Striations

Evidence of geology at the Falls of Bruar

Taken looking down from the lower bridge at the Falls of Bruar, with the river at low level. As the water flows (sometimes in quite dramatic floods) over these rocks, pebbles and other detritus from the hills upstream scratches lines over the riverbed rocks, here revealed in all their sedimentary colour and texture. A study in geology and texture / shape / form.
