MV Dayspring, Corpach: Geometry
An appropriate place for a shipwreck, well, grounded and mostly abandoned former fishing trawler boat: Corpach takes its name from the Gaelic ("bodily", concerning corpses), possibly as it was used as a resting place for carrying chieftains' coffins on their way to burial on Iona. The MV Dayspring was originally built in 1975 and moored at Kinlochleven Pier from 2001. A chain fell off during a heavy storm in 2011 and the boat ran aground at Caol where it's been ever since. This is a study in lines and angles, the keel of the boat forming a strong diagonal.
