Rock Swirl

Display image: Rock Swirl
My favourite kind of abstract, nature's handiwork: an awesome mix of chunky red (basalt?) and sea-blue-turquoise psammite with marbling veins, small cracks and lines and the beginnings of pitting with erosion by the sea. Taken from within the Highland Boundary Fault at Garron Point, Stonehaven. An experimental photograph: in the absence of anywhere nearby to park the tripod, I moved a few feet away and used a telephoto zoom lens; even at f/16 there was insufficient depth of field so I combined both pixel-shift and focus-stacking for an extremely high-resolution finished photo.
