Silent Exuberance

Silent Exuberance
What a way to end a day. Driving back from exploring the West Coast, I pulled off the A82 through Glencoe and drove a few hundred yards to the first layby. Park. Turn off the headlights. As if the mighty mountains of Glen Etive (Sron na Creise, Beinn Mhic Chasgaig and the lower slopes of the Buachaille Etive Mor) were already impressive, just stand back and marvel at the sky in awe and wonder of all the stars, dust lanes and nebulae in the core of the Milky Way beyond.

It's probably best to regard this as a composite - the best Milky Way nightscape photos always treat the landsacpe separately, of necessity, even though I only moved the tripod a few feet to the right to compose for the road.
Road and mountains: 4 frames at 2mins each
Sky: 12 lights at 2min each, blended with calibration frames from previous scenes with the same lens, stacked in AstroPixelProcessor and light-pollution removed in APP and siril.
Both aspects of the scene were joined in Affinity.
