Solar Halo and Upper Tangent Arc

Solar Halo and Upper Tangent Arc
I looked up. Stopped. Reached for ... all the cameras at once.

One of the best atmospheric optics displays I've seen - hexagonal rod-shaped ice crystals refracting light to form a 22-degree solar halo with upper tangent arc and (faint) parhelic circle.

Processed at some length in darktable and Pixelmator Photo.
