The night before, this view was lousy - thick grey clouds zipping across the landscape.

The friend I'd brought up was less than enthused when I said we'd be back here for 7.30am the next morning.
But we were, and we stood and watched... not only did a mere ball of gas illuminate the world, but, timed perfectly with the crescendo of my inner music (thank Runrig - it's the only track for this place) the sun rose.

Oh, and a golden eagle flew across the landscape from near the mountain to a ridge just across the road from us, too.
